BAY LAKE, Texas (AP) Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas early Friday, but it’s the country’s largest hurricane to make landfall in more than a decade, destroying more than three dozen coastal cities and leaving more than 1.6 million people homeless, including more than 2,300 in Houston.

Harvey left more than 30,000 people in shelters.

In the last year, more than 200 major hurricanes have hit the U.S., including Harvey, and more than half of them have been Category 5 or higher.

It’s the first time since the Great Depression that a major hurricane has not been a Category 5 storm.

In 2016, the Category 5 Hurricane Andrew struck the U
