Oscar-winning director Christopher Nolan.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter ahead of the second instalment in the DC Extended Universe, the director said that it was “not a good movie” to compare to the first film.
“I think I would call it the same movie,” he said.
“I’m not saying it’s the same as the first one, but I think it’s certainly not a good one.”
The Dark Prince of Darkness” opens in theatres on July 12.
It is being made by Warner Bros. for a global release of around $100m, with Warner Bros producing.
The film is set in Egypt, a setting Nolan has said is “not what you’d expect for the Dark Knight”.”

In his film, Nolan has cast Michael Caine as Bruce Wayne and Christian Bale as Alfred, as well as Shia LaBeouf as the Joker, who Nolan said would be “a lot more interesting than I expected”.
